PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
 
2001 – Present County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
SheriffChief Executive Officer of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. As an elected official, the Sheriff is responsible for the operation, oversight and administration of the organization as well as the response to the community which he serves. The Sheriff ensures that the organization’s vision and mission is pronounced to the community at large and adhered to by the 1,200 employees of the agency.
 
1988 – 2001 County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
UndersheriffAdminister and manage the Police, Jail, Court Security and Civil Bureaus as well as civilian personnel of this 1,000 employee agency. Reporting directly to the Monroe County Sheriff, responsible for management of a 65 million budget, personnel office, administrative and operations functions. Consulted regarding the design and construction of a new 250 bed penitentiary and renovation of existing jail housing over 1,000 inmates daily.
 
1987 – 1988 County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant – Headquarters OfficeManage 24-hour record operation. Responsible for management of 20 full time employees, filing and retention of police reports, computer system and data processing function.
 
1986 – 1988 County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant – S.W.A.T. CommanderManage Special Weapons and Tactical Unit. Responsible for the management of 20 employees, training, budget, equipment procurement and emergency response.
 
1986 – 1988 County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
Deputy Sheriff Lieutenant – PatrolManage the uniform and investigative members of a shift of the patrol division. Responsible for the management of 30 full time employees, payroll, personnel, record keeping, investigative caseload and supervision of police activities throughout the County.
 
1985 – 1986 County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
Deputy Sheriff Sergeant – Planning and ResearchResponsible for long range strategic planning and research of special projects for all four bureaus of the organization.
 
1983 – 1985 County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
Deputy Sheriff Sergeant PatrolSupervise patrol members of a substation shift in delivery of police services. Responsible for the personnel scheduling of assignments, training, personnel records and roll call presentations.
 
1978 – 1983 County of Monroe – Office of Sheriff
Deputy Sheriff PatrolResponsible for enforcement of all laws and ordinances; preservation of peace, protection of lives and property, investigation of criminal offenses, apprehension of criminals and other related work. Duties consist primarily of patrol, inspection, investigation and enforcement tasks.

Records ClerkResponsible for daily processing and filing of police and criminal records received by the agency.
